6972 Polaris-I Space Lab is a Classic Space set released in 1987. It contains a base, two small scouting vehicles and a spacecraft.

The set contained a large ground base. It is also a launchpad. The base was mainly white and transparent red. On it were two white antenna.
Attached to the ground base was a large spacecraft, which was launched from the base.
The set also included two small, white scouting vehicles. Each one had lasers and could fit one minifigure.
The set also came with three Blue Classic Spacemen minifigures.

- This was one of the last Classic Space sets to be released. Its release coincided with the new Futuron theme. Moreover, the set used the same color scheme as Futuron, but still used the old minifigures.
