UFO was a subtheme of LEGO Space released in 1996. Though the main sets were released in 1997, one keychain set was released in 1996.
History[]
The theme officially introduced the first alien Minfigures, The Zotaxians (Though Classic Space technically introduced the first aliens, the Zarconians, from the planet Zark). The backstory for UFO varies depending on country, but they are mostly the same. UFO has been featured as both good guys and bad guys (Depending on country). The aliens' home-planet name also varies between countries, but is commonly referred to in the LEGO community as Zotax.
