Space Police II is a subtheme of LEGO Space released in 1992. It was the successor of Space Police I, and was successed by Space Police III.

History Edit

The standard jail cells were still used, but only by three vehicles. The theme also lacked a permanent headquarters like Space Police I's 6955 Space Lock-Up Isolation Base. This was the first Space theme to replace the LEGO standard (smiley face) minifigure head with a more complex graphic (in this case, the face augmented by a fringe of hair and an ear-mounted microphone). Finally, Space Police II ships were known for being under-armed; several vehicles sported no weapons (such as 6813 Galactic Chief, whose pilot is armed with only a hand-held blaster), and the others featured only two small cockpit-mounted weapons, including the theme's heavyweight multi-module starship, the 6984 Galactic Mediator.

Popular Space Police II vehicles included 6897 Rebel Hunter and 6984 Galactic Mediator (both 1992). Space Police II did not include any bases. Though Space Police II officially ended in 1993, 1916 Starion Patrol (1993) was re-released as 3015 Space Police Car in 1998.

Background Edit

The Space Police II officers protected the M-Tron and Ice Planet 2002 from the Blacktron Future Generation forces and enforced laws established by the Galactic Council. They always protected the innocent in interplanetary disputes.
